
Rangers have turned down three offers for starlet Kai Kennedy as England’s Premier League sides hunt down the star.
The 19-year-old didn’t sign a new contract with Ibrox until early this year to keep him in the Premiership Championship until 2023.
however, Sport record understands that West Ham, Norwich and an anonymous French team all made an approach for the playmaker.
The Rangers have stood firm and closed any interest so far in the window and remain keen to keep the talent on their books.
It remains to be seen if he will spend the season in the elite or if he will be loaned.
Kennedy spent last season on loan at Inverness Caley Thistle and Raith Rovers and impressed during his time in the Championship.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has praised Kennedy and praised the Scottish youth cap after including him in his first team in 2019.
He said, “People look at Kai like he’s this little player who doesn’t belong to men, but he’s been training like a man all week.
“He’s been the most consistent and he’s a fabulous little player. It wasn’t just a symbolic gesture because he’s a child.”
Sporting director Ross Wilson praised the starlet, saying after signing his latest deal: him to move forward towards realizing the ambition he has nurtured since joining our academy as a young boy.
“He has progressed beyond our B team and now he has to develop and influence strongly at the first team level. We were pleased with his performance in Inverness and thank John Robertson for his work with Kai. ”
