A director of the Alness-based civil engineering firm, Pat Munro, will play a key role in the infrastructure sector in Scotland.
In a meeting at Caledonian Stadium in Inverness, Mark Bramley, Managing Director of Construction and Housing with Pat Munro, was named the new chairman of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association Scotland (CECA Scotland).
CECA is the representative body of the businesses that work day-to-day to provide, upgrade and maintain Scotland’s critical infrastructure.
He represents the interests of over 110 companies in Scotland which together carry out around 80 percent of all civil engineering activities in Scotland. The ECSC maintains close relationships with public sector clients and the government to ensure that the expertise of their members is shared as widely as possible.
Mr. Bramley has extensive experience with CECA, having been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015 and Vice President for two years.
He succeeds David Ross, managing director of Glasgow-based George Leslie Ltd, who is stepping down as chairman at the end of his two-year term.
“I would like to thank all members of the Board of Directors for their support and encouragement during my tenure as President of CECA Scotland,” said Mr Ross.
“I believe we are highly regarded in the industry and we have sought to use our voice and influence for the benefit of the civil engineering sector as a whole.
“It has been an honor to represent CECA Scotland and although I have not been able to attend as many face to face meetings as I would have liked, I am happy to have been able to forge strong relationships with colleagues from all over. the United Kingdom. . “
In turn, Mr Bramley commented: “I would like to thank David Ross for guiding CECA Scotland over the past two years through one of the most difficult times our industry has ever seen. He has played a key role in bringing together the entire civil engineering community in Scotland under unprecedented circumstances to defend our common interests.
“After 18 difficult months for everyone, I look forward to working with contractors and clients to ensure that we come out of the pandemic with the industry in a position that is stronger than ever and ready to meet the challenges of the future, in particular the transition to net zero. .
“I firmly believe that investing in infrastructure is the surest way to put Scotland on the right track for a job-oriented recovery to meet our social, environmental and economic priorities.”
