Obituary of Lee Lyvers (1942 – 2022) – Inverness, Florida


The Remembrance Service for Mr. Lee P. Lyvers, 79, of Inverness, will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday January 15, 2022 at the Inverness Chapel of the Hooper Funeral Homes. Interment will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Inverness.

He was born September 19, 1942 in Chicago, Illinois, son of Arthur P. and Leone Powers Lyvers, and arrived in Citrus County in 1979 from Seminole, Florida. He died on Saturday January 8, 2022 in Inverness.

Mr. Lyvers was a graduate of Boca Ceiga High School, Cincinnati College of Embalming, where he was a Fellow of the Mu Sigma Alpha National Honor Society of Mortuary Schools, and Associate Funeral Director / Embalmer at the Baynard Thompson Seminole Beach Memorial, Salon Mohn funeral home, Seminole and Hooper funeral homes.

Prior to moving to Inverness, he was the representative of Marsellus / Heritage Casket Company in Florida and The Dodge Chemical Company in Colorado. Lee and his wife Donna were the founders of County Land and Investments, Realtors and Marie Powell of Citrus Country, Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate. He was a Protestant by faith and a member of Citrus Lodge # 118 F&AM; Scottish Rite, Consistory of Ocala; Temple of Egypt, Tampa; Legion of Honor DeMolay; and founding member of Chevalier DeMolay, Gulf Beach Chapter, Madeira Beach.

The survivors are his wife, Donna; 3 sons: Michael, Atlanta, Georgia; Buddy Grant and Richard Grant, both of Inverness; 3 daughters: Melissa Finerty, Athens, Georgia; Michelle Rogers, Tarpon Springs, Florida; Dee Dee Hicks, Inverness; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
