TSGT (Sargento Técnico) Ramon Castilleja Sr, 80, died peacefully at Carbon County Hospital on January 2, 2022. Vietnam War veteran, completed 20 years, 2 months and 19 days of active military service and 20 years , 9 months and 10 days of civilian service.
Sargento Técnico Castilleja was born on February 18, 1941 in Lockhart, Texas, hijo de Bonifacio and Nicolasa Castilleja. Ramon graduated octavo grado from Martindale School in 1956. In December 1958, he joined the Fuerza Aérea (Air Force) and assisted in basic training at the Lackland military base in San Antonio, Texas.

Ramon is survived by his wife Yvonne Solaas of Paonia, Colorado, his wife Daniel (Wendy) Castilleja of New Bern, North Carolina, Ramon (Teresa) Castilleja, of Rawlins, Wyoming, and Ron (Jessica) Castilleja of Rawlins, Wyoming, sus hermanas Frances (Tony) Ponce de Texas and Oralia Tamayo de Texas, sus hermanos, Max Castilleja y Manuel Castilleja de Texas, sus 16 nietos, 23 bisnieto/as, 1 bis-bisnieto, una cuñada, 3 cuñados y numerosas sobrinas y sobrinos .
Lo acompañaron en vida y han fallecido: su esposa Brenda, su yerno Jerry Solaas, sus padres Bonifacio y Nicolasa Castilleja, sus nietos Preston y William, sus bisnietas Cassidy e Isabella, sus hermanos Santos Castilleja, Victor Castilleja y Domingo Castilleja, sus hermanas Margarita Castilleja and Eloise Castilleja.

A celebration of life will be held later at the Peppermill, 1602 Inverness Blvd, Rawlins Wyoming.
Ramon and Brenda will be interred together in a national cemetery with full military honors, at
a later date.
