Do you feel like you moved to Alaska? We have such cold weather that our snowbirds come here to get away from!
Hopefully by the time you read this we’ll be back to “normal” time. I heard a reporter say this morning that it’s colder in Ocala than in Denver, Colorado.
My family was in Yellowstone National Park on the 4th of July many years ago and it snowed that day! My children were delighted.
Speaking of cold weather, I’m sure you know the saying, “the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.” Well, we have a former resident, Maryanne Ellner, who lived here at Quail Meadow for 17 years. Last year, she decided she needed to move to Pennsylvania to be closer to family! She sold her house and moved!
It has been freezing since September! In a phone call from her yesterday, she said she looked outside and saw her car was covered in snow, and it was still snowing, and it was freezing cold! She also said the snow plow cleared the street, but she couldn’t get out to clean her car.
By the way, she decided to go back to Ocala!
Don’t forget to come to the club house tonight (Friday) for the 1st Friday gathering. Bring some snacks and have a nice evening with your neighbors.
Attention all motorcyclists and trikes: Your next ride will be on Wednesday February 9th. Meet at the clubhouse at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call Gene at 352-208-8185.
“Rogue” callers are really busy. A popular call now claims to be from Social Security about your Medicare card. I responded by saying, “I don’t give that information over the phone,” and then I hung up the phone! Within seconds my phone rang (the caller ID this time showed a local number) so I answered. This time it was the same caller who was angry because I had hung up on him and he wanted to know why. I immediately hung up!
Have a great week and stay warm!
