The new intersection will improve safety and reduce congestion, expect delays and detours
If your commute takes you to Meridian off Lincoln Avenue, this update is for you. Please allow extra time and expect detours starting this week.
Construction is underway to improve the intersection of Havana Street and Meridian Boulevard – a partnership project between Douglas County and the Metropolitan District of Meridian.
During construction
- Havana Street between Meridian and Lincoln Avenue will be closed. Oswego Street is the detour.
- If you are coming from the north, please use Inverness Parkway.
- Lane changes will occur on Meridian Boulevard and Havana Street, with occasional complete closures. Delays are to be expected.
- Traffic control measures will be put in place for drivers and pedestrians to follow. See the detour map below.
- Construction will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. with some weekend work.
Please observe posted speed limits and watch out for crews. The work should be completed in December 2022.
The Havana Street and Meridian Boulevard intersection will be reconfigured with a new concrete pavement and additional turning lanes to improve safety and traffic flow. Construction also includes replacing traffic lights at the intersections of Havana Street and Meridian Boulevard and Maroon Circle and Meridian Boulevard. These improvements will improve sight distance and traffic operations to reduce traffic congestion during peak periods.
