
Leon King has stepped up his pre-season training ahead of Rangers’ return by doing double gym sessions alongside team-mate Josh McPake.
The defender managed to break into the Ibrox first team last season with appearances against Dundee United and Hearts respectively. He has featured six times and hopes to add to that tally this term when Premiership action returns. soccer scotland understands Gers have been impressed with the 18-year-old’s signing this summer and he should have a bigger role to play with the team this coming season.
While other players remain on vacation, King and McPake – who are attracting a host of clubs wanting them on loan – have both worked more at their gymnasium in Hillington. This dedication has not gone unnoticed, with both stars hoping to be involved in pre-season and beyond.
We recently told you exclusively how King dumped a staggering salary package at Manchester United and Newcastle in order to stay in Glasgow and fight for a place at his boyhood club and now his efforts have gone the extra mile again. with his gym working out.
McPake, meanwhile, also worked with personal trainers to get in shape for the new year and did double sessions on his own before being joined by King.
The attacking midfielder is wanted by various clubs on loan but we understand he will stay with the Light Blues to allow Gio van Bronckhorst to get a fresh look.
Hapoel Beersheba are very interested while Inverness and Queen of the South closer to home would like to loan him out for the season.
