DEFENDER Lewis Hyde says there is a spark of magic at Inverness Caledonian Thistle that can help them win promotion to the Premiership this season.
Inverness secured their first league victory this season with a 4-1 hammering of Cove Rangers at Caledonian Stadium last weekend.
The win lifted Inverness into second place in the Championship, one point behind leaders Dundee, who remain unbeaten this season.
Last season, Inverness missed out on promotion to the Premiership when they lost to St Johnstone in the play-off final.
Hyde says there is a spark that has been ignited in the dressing room which is determined to win promotion to the Premiership next season.
He said: “100% this is where we deserve to be, there is a spark of magic at this club. We had a little taste of it at the end of the season where there was a bit of magic at the club and everyone was together.
“Last season we thought we could have gone all the way and won the league.
“This season there is a good group of guys and we are determined to make it happen.”
Hyde broke into Caley Thistle’s first team last season playing in a number of games and started against Cove Rangers on Saturday at right-back.
Hyde, who was also on loan at Rothes last season, says he is relishing the chance to show what he can do in the first team.
“I love it and will play anywhere for the team. I love playing, if the gaffer wants me to play back I’m more than happy to do so.
“I have to bide my time, I have to prove my point and kick things off.
“It depends on me.
“I have to try my luck, keep it simple and work hard.”
Speaking about the start of the season, he said: “The first two games were disappointing, we needed a win to start the season and it’s a good performance to carry on for the rest of the season.”
